LG Wave Washing Machine

LG Wave Washing Machine

LG Wave Washing Machine - LG has made top-load washing machines since it was established in 1958, but it is better-known for its other electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and televisions. It has definitely kept up with the times. Its latest line of high-efficiency top-loader washing machines are among the most sophisticated out there.

The LG Wave series has a lot going for it. Its 4.5 cubic feet of capacity will handle the largest of loads, which saves money and energy. LG's 1,100 rpm motor will wring clothes out like no old-school agitator-style machine ever could. And its see-through, slam-proof lid with easy-to-reach front controls makes it look like a machine of the future instead of the washer of the past. (Those front controls are all buttons, so you'll have to kiss mechanical dials goodbye.)

In addition to its wash cycles, the washer offers an extra rinse cycle. Rinsing is done by jet spray, which penetrates more deeply than a simple fill-and-spin process. And this unit, like many of the most modern top-load washers now on the market, can do a cool-water wash that can take the place of many warm-water cycles while still getting your clothing just as clean.

The strangest thing about this washing machine isn't what it has, but what it doesn't have: a casual/permanent-press wash cycle. This cycle is best for no-iron colored clothes such as socks, many pants and most shirts. It usually washes with warm water and rinses with cool water. Since the other cycle settings are somewhat adjustable, this isn't a deal-breaker if you don't mind manually entering your preferences every time you want to do a casual load. But it's a little surprising on a machine of otherwise competitive caliber.

On the bright side, LG has one of the most helpful customer support policies of any washing machine manufacturer. You can get help via phone, email or live chat. Coolest of all, this machine is capable of sending remote diagnostics either to a technician or to an app on your smartphone. And LG offers a 10-year warranty on its direct-drive motor.

Maytag Bravos XL Washing Machine Review

Maytag Bravos XL

The Maytag Bravos XL is a large-capacity top-load washing machine with a lot going for it. Its 4.6-cubic-foot capacity enables it to wash 21 towels in a single load. A whopping 13 wash cycles means that your laundry will receive the custom care it deserves. There is a power wash for tough stains, a rapid wash when a few items need to be done quickly, and a delicate/handwash for those lacy unmentionables.

Jets distribute detergent over the entire load without diluting it first, which helps to power out tough stains. Best of all, this model boasts an internal water heater, which allows it to get hot enough to sterilize the basket and destroy bacteria, as well as allergens such as dust and pet dander. Most energy-efficient models aren't capable of getting hot enough for a true sanitize or allergen cycle, and so they rely on added chemicals for the former and an extra rinse for the latter. Both make them a little less, well, efficient.

An extended spin option lets you use the maximum spin speed to shorten the wash cycle and lessen drying time. Since most of the electricity it takes to do a load of laundry actually comes from drying, this option lowers overall energy use as well.

Speaking of energy savings: This washer has a cool wash cycle that boasts the cleaning power of a warm wash while using less heat, and thus less energy. It's Energy Star certified and qualifies for the top tier of the CEE Super Efficient Home Appliances Initiative.

This model offers the height of convenience, with auto water leveling and temperature control; child locks; and a see-through, slam-proof lid.

As if all that weren't enough, the Bravos XL comes in two colors: white or granite.

Maytag offers the standard one-year parts-and-labor warranty, but also 10-year coverage of the motor, so you can have confidence that it will keep running for as long as you need it. Customer support is available via phone, email or live chat.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Review

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Review

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum - A total of 16 wash cycles means that in addition to all the cycles you expect to find in a washing machine, you'll find a host of others to make washing easier. The Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum features a thorough allergen cycle to really clean your clothes, not just make them feel and smell clean. And its sanitize cycle means that the washing machine cleans itself (with a little help from oxygen additives). There is also an EcoBoost option that uses cool instead of warm water in some cycles, expending less energy but using the impeller motion to ensure that soiled garments are still given a thorough cleansing.

Speaking of the impeller, the one in this model is peculiar and exceptional. The vanes are wrapped in a proprietary material to soften its impact on your clothing.

This top-loader uses detergent jets in some cycles to ensure that the soap is delivered undiluted to the soiled spots. And you'll benefit from a rare feature: an LED basket lighting system that ensures that you won't miss those bottom socks when transferring to the dryer.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum - Ease of Use
As with many upper-end models, the Cabrio Platinum automatically gauges the water level and controls the temperature based on the weight and type of clothing. Its slow-close glass lid means your fingers (and your children's) won't be at risk, and that you'll be able to check in on your clothes from time to time in mid-cycle. Quiet-spin technology keeps the machine's suspension on an even keel and minimizes vibration, which makes this model ideal for upstairs installation.

When washing clothes is as quiet as this machine makes it, laundry can be done during naptime or nighttime – when you're actually free to do it. Now that's convenience, especially when coupled with the Cabrio Platinum's time-delay start feature.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum - Energy Efficiency
This top-loader washing machine meets strict CEE Tier 3 standards of energy efficiency, and of course is Energy Star certified. Its yearly estimated operating cost with an electric water heater is a paltry $19 (with a natural gas water heater, that figure drops to $12). This model even has an eco-monitor that keeps track of your cost savings over time.

Summary:
Add them up, and Whirlpool's premium top-load washing machine has enough time-saving features and automated perks to make for a stress-free purchase that will serve its owners for years to come. And its performance comes with multiple seals of eco-approval, which doesn't just mean you'll be doing the Earth a favor; it also means your utility bills will be a little lighter.

Samsung H-E Review

Samsung H-E Review

Samsung H-E Review - The Samsung high-efficiency washer we looked at had nine wash cycles. That's fewer than most machines of comparable caliber, but it has all the essentials: normal, heavy-duty, delicate, casual (permanent press), bulky/bedding, and a quick cycle for very small loads that have to be done lickety-split. And if something vital is missing from its repertoire, there is a spot in its memory for a custom cycle of your own devising. That's a rarity that lets you take full control of how your washing machine performs, instead of having to rely on its stock recommendations for your designer threads.

This top-loader also has a self-cleaning cycle that uses hot water instead of bleach or other chemicals, which is a bonus in our book. Another bonus: When your load is finished, you get a friendly Samsung ringtone instead of the abrasive buzz of the typical washing machine. Don't you wish all your household chores ended that way?

The Samsung high-efficiency washing machine is equipped with separate dispensers for detergent, fabric softener and bleach, which it adds to the load at the optimal time, taking out the guesswork. And with its high-speed spins (up to 1,000 rpm), your clothes will be ready to go into the dryer in no time.

Samsung H-E Ease of Use
We love the modern design of this washing machine, with a glass, slam-proof lid that allows you to monitor your clothes mid-spin. Its automatic load sensor weighs your clothing so that it can ensure a balanced spin and the right amount of water. And its automatic temperature control ensures that the water stays at the right heat for your desired setting. When all of this is put together, it means that you can spend less time figuring out the best care for your laundry and have the peace of mind that every load will be done right the first time – and without damaging your clothing.

Samsung H-E Energy Efficiency
The energy it takes to run this washing machine will set you back about $18 a year with an electric water heater ($10 with a natural gas water heater). That's pretty impressive. This is partly due to its high-efficiency cycles and partly due to its super-high spin speed (1,000 rpm), which gets the job done faster and means your clothes, having had most of their moisture already removed, will take less time in the dryer. That's good for your clothes and good for your electric bill. In addition, this washing machine has the lowest Energy Star Water Factor of any product we reviewed, which means that on average it uses the least water per load. Well played, Samsung.

Samsung H-E Help & Support
When making a big household purchase, peace of mind should come with the purchase, and that means choosing companies that keep your appliances going stronger, longer. Samsung backs up its top-loader washing machines with the standard one-year warranty on parts and labor, plus a 10-year motor warranty, which should ensure that your new purchase will last well into the future. This support is available online via email or live chat, or by telephone.

Also weighing in its favor is Samsung's two-year control board warranty on this washing machine. Considering how computerized modern washers have become, one would think such a thing to be common, yet it's nearly unprecedented.

Samsung H-E Review Summary:
For its incredibly quiet operation, tiny eco-footprint and easy-to-use design, we offer the Samsung line of high-efficiency top-loader washing machines our stamp of approval. It's also less expensive than most of the higher-end offerings we looked at, which is nothing to sneeze at.

LG Smart ThinQ Review

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV - LG is one of the electronic equipment manufacturers worldwide. Many types of products are already launching one of which is the washing machine. Some time ago, LG launched a washing machine "LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV". Want to know how good the quality is? let's see that article we quoted from TopTenReviews below.

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV Features
The LG Smart ThinQ boasts 14 wash cycles to optimize the care of your laundry. In addition to the common options such as heavy duty, delicate and permanent press, this washing machine offers an allergen cycle to get pet dander and dust out of even the most delicate of fabrics. While some washing machines have an extra rinse option that can help with this process, the best tech to take out allergens is steam. The Smart ThinQ has an on-board heater that it uses to steam-clean your clothes. Steam cleaning is also an invaluable feature when it comes to sanitizing difficult-to-clean objects such as pillows and stuffed animals.

On that note: The Smart ThinQ has a kids wear cycle to sanitize heavily soiled items with, again, its onboard heater. Between this and its soak/stain treatment features, there isn't an item in your house this washer can't make look like new. And if you discover a need this washing machine doesn't already accommodate, you can create and save your own custom cycle for ready regular use.

But the real sci-fi edge comes from this model's compatibility with your smartphone. You can monitor its energy usage and cycle progress, turn it on and off remotely, and even download new cycles.

Also worth noting is this model's maximum spin speed. At 1,100 rpm, it can spin the wetness out of clothing faster than almost any other model we looked at. This means energy savings and shorter cycle times, as long as you aren't washing wrinkle-prone loads (for those, slower spin speeds are available).

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV Ease of Use
he LG Smart ThinQ does the thinking for you so that every load of wash can come out perfectly. It weighs the laundry load and determines the best water level. It automatically controls the temperature to best suit the load type. Its LCD touchscreen makes it one of the most user-friendly top-loader washing machines on the market. And its see-through, slam-proof lid makes it easy to check in on your laundry without waking up the kids.

As a bonus, if you happen to be on a Smart Grid and are charged more for electricity at peak times, this model will time loads when power is the cheapest, even if you're not home to start it up.

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV Energy Efficiency
Most new top-loader washing machines, including the LG Smart ThinQ, use an impeller in the bottom of the basket instead of the old central agitators that took up the entire center of the tub. Impellers cause less wear on your garments and are less obtrusive, making it easier to get loads into and out of the washing machine. This model is Energy Star certified and has a Tier 3 rating (the best) according to the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) Super Efficient Home Appliances Initiative. It's estimated that this machine costs a diminutive $20 per year to use with an electric water heater ($13 with a natural gas water heater). It's also one of the most water-efficient models we looked at.

Additionally, this top-loader washing machine has a cold-water wash designed to clean as thoroughly as a warm wash without using as much heat. That means it's easier on your clothes and your utility bill.

One of the reasons this model scores so highly on energy efficiency is that at 4.7 cubic feet, it has the largest capacity of any machine we evaluated. For greenest cleaning, do large loads, as they are more energy efficient.

LG Smart ThinQ WT6001HV Help & Support
LG offers the standard one-year warranty on parts and labor. It also offers a 10-year warranty on the direct-drive motor in this model. Support is available via telephone, email or live online chat.

We were impressed by the Smart ThinQ's ability to send a remote diagnostic signal online, which could prevent the need for a technician visit. This is smart technology that saves you money.

Summary:
We were blown away by all this washing machine can do. The contents of your family's closet are costly; they deserve to be treated with care. With extra features such as an onboard heater, remote Wi-Fi diagnostics, smartphone compatibility, not to mention automatic sensor technology to determine ideal temperature and water level, the LG Smart ThinQ gets our endorsement without any reservation. And it doesn't hurt that its responsible use of water and electricity will make you an eco-conscious consumer.
